The first crunchy step

I've never been to the Arctic or Antarctic (yet) but enjoy reading about polar exploration. Stories of discovery, adventure, hardship, heroism; breath taking tales of entrapment on the ice, hidden crevasses, killer whales, auroras, blizzards! If you haven't read a book about Arctic or Antarctic exploration I encourage you to check something out! I'll post suggestions next time!

Hey APA! Welcome to the course. I think that after living in the frozen artic tundra of Western NY, I will skip the artic expeditions and book my trips around sand, sun and the ocean!! Sorry!

I love the story of the Endurance. PBS did a really good documentary of it.

Rock on...but we need to get you off this polar escapade- and get you on the sands..perhaps sailing into the sunset with a cold beer or a frozen concoction covered with salt....

I've read Mr.Popper's Penguins and sometimes I drink frozen margaritas. Does that count?

So...I added the following RSS feeds: The Shifted Librarian, Gizmodo, Orange Slices, and Simply Recipes. I already subscribed to Library Leader and OCLS General Announcements. I chose the topic "Polar Exploration" when I tried out Grokker and thought the map view was pretty cool.
I don't seem to have a preferred learning style, I learn by utilizing all of them!
